Important Information Regarding COVID-19
At Ashmore Podiatry, we are focused on the well-being of every person who steps through our clinic door. We would like to reassure you that we take your health seriously by closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and are regularly updating our policy and procedures according to recommendations from the government and the Department of Health.
Safety Measures in Place at Ashmore Podiatry for In-Clinic Care
Ashmore Podiatry adheres to the highest standards for hygiene and infection prevention and control measures. We have also implemented several additional necessary and recommended precautions in relation to COVID-19:
- Unwell patients will be politely asked to leave immediately and advised to get a COVID-19 test
- All patients and carers must clean their hands using the provided hand sanitiser upon entry and at any time requested by staff (e.g. after blowing nose or coughing)
- Increased frequency of disinfection of communal surfaces, including door handles, waiting room chairs, pens etc
- Provision of a bin for immediate disposal of tissues
- Removal of magazines from the waiting room to minimise surfaces touched by multiple people
- Removal of excess chairs from waiting room to facilitate social distancing
- Only essential visitors to enter (for mobility/translation purposes), all others must wait outside (extra chairs have been provided)
- In between patients, the treatment rooms and equipment are thoroughly cleaned by our podiatrists using hospital-grade detergent and disinfectant
- Podiatrists will always wear a mask during treatment
- Treatment rooms and the reception area at Ashmore Podiatry are fitted with high grade air purifiers with aerodynamic design and extra thick HEPA Filter to boost clean air delivery which can be applied to up to 95m2 rooms. They can effectively remove ultrafine particles as small as 0.02um, remove 99.97% common airborne allergens and 99.9% bacteria and some viruses such as H1N1
- All staff members have completed the Department of Health’s COVID-19 Infection Control Training
- Any staff member who is unwell must call in sick immediately, obtain a COVID-19 test and self-quarantine until the test returns a negative result
